November meeting

The November meeting was “Beyond the Quilt” a big show & tell of all the different things our members make in addition to quilts.  Warning, this post will be very picture heavy!

Nicole brought us a super cute sew together bag she had made.

Erin brought in this cute self-binding blanket to show off.

Sheila showed us an Advent Calander, with popsicle sticks of activities to do instead of candy (so smart), a cute quilted hot water bottle holder, and a current WIP, a knit mermaid tail blanket.

Elizabeth Brought 4 knit apparel items she made using patterns purchased from CustomFit by Amy Herzog. Sign up, and you can buy a pattern written to your gauge, in your preferred yarn, and sized to your own measurements. That’s a cool find, Elizabeth, thanks for sharing!

Donna showed us a knit nativity set she made, complete with box!

Jenn brought a plethora of bags to show. A boxy bag and wide open pouch (design from noodle- head) and a triangle pouch from Crafty Gemini. Plus some cute little pin cushions!img_2734 2016-11-27-14-23-04

Jen also brought this bag she made from an old coat!

Sonya showed us a brilliant stand up pencil case she made from Ikat bag.

Sonya also brought a collection of clothes pin people she’s been making with her daughter.

Patti S. brought us some of the rope bowls she’s been making. And a “hitchhiker scarf” she’s made. She also showed off her version of the noodle head open wide pouch and her beautiful cork bag.

Barbara made these beautiful seasonal door hangers and a watercolor wall hanging from Whims.

Lavonne brought a lot of things to show us! Multiple types of bags for kids and adults!

Lavonne also brought some water colors, cross-stitching, and Crocheting she has done.

Sherry showed us some soup bowl, kids tuggys, pot holders, and crochet scrubbers she’s made.

Tarra brought a hat and little cardigan she’d made using kool-aid dyed yarn!

She also showed off her handmade dress, and hunger games inspired shawl.

Now, here’s where it gets confusing. Tarra and Lisa both had so many beautiful bags to show off; I lost track of which bag belongs to whom! Hopefully, I can come back and edit who’s is who’s, but for now, we’ll just enjoy the beautiful bags.

Show and Tell:

Heather brought in a few more blocks for her “Family Circle” quilt. A beautiful way help her mom remember the whole family. 2016-11-27-15-22-14

Tarra made this cute little scrappy Christmas tree and a beautiful record and cassette tape quilt for a friends baby. She even plans on embroidering in names of bands her and her friends listened to!

Lisa brought in her fish quilt top. Some of these beautiful fish are from when she was queen bee of hive 2 in June. It looks so much fun!

October 2016 Meeting

This recap will be mostly photos. Since I wasn’t at the meeting, Nicole kindly took these photos so those absent could still enjoy the show!

Dyanne was very inspired by her colour challenge. Not only did she finished this cute apple wall-hanging, she has started a most intriguing additional mini quilt.
