January Meeting Review

We ended 2019, and started 2020, with sew days at Stonebridge Home Inn & Suites. In January, we hosted a guest at our 2 p.m. meeting. Linda Seemann-Korte brought bags she has made and described their construction and patterns. We received so many tips, such as suggestions for linings, types of waxed and unwaxed canvases, and different types of handles and straps. It was inspirational to see so many bags as these are a practical item to test out the decorative stitches on our sewing machines. One tip that was new to most of us was to use a continuous zipper. This was a very informative and enjoyable presentation. Linda was a great speaker. Thanks Linda!

Bev brought the charity quilt to the meeting. It looks even more beautiful in person than in the posts. We are so grateful that she led this project this year, and we are excited to soon be able to see the finished quilt.

Our next meeting is at 2 p.m. on February 23, 2020, at the Community Room in the Stonebridge Sobeys. Remember to pay for your $60 membership on or before this date so you can make use of the MQG website for all of the great resources. Stay tuned for details for the Libs’ Elliot trunk show and workshop on September 18th and 19th, respectively. Members will be given first option on attending, and a discounted rate.
