January 2023 Meeting

The next meeting is January 22nd.

Our January event includes both a Sew Day and Regular Meeting at Home Inn and Suites (253 Willis Crescent). Come and Go from 9 am to 8 pm (free for members) with a Lunch Break at 12 pm and Meeting from 2 to 4 pm.

Please RSVP for the sew day. For previous members, please see the email for instructions on how to do that. For potential new members, please email saskatoonmqg@gmail.com. We will need a couple of people to bring an iron and ironing board, or cutting mat, to share. Members that are only able to attend the meeting should arrive by 2 p.m.

Try to remember to bring your name tags! We encourage our members to wear their own stitched name tags.

Meeting Agenda

  • Icebreaker
  • Education – “Rocking Quilting” by Donna Beneteau
  • Show & Tell and Book, Blog, or Bolt – Show us what you’ve made and your works in progress. We all want to know what new and interesting things YOU know about.
  • Traveling quilts kickoff – If anyone decides at the meeting that they want to participate, we will adjust the list. Be prepared to deliver your sample blocks at the meeting (or to make arrangements if you can’t be there). If you are interested and haven’t been emailed the list yet, please email saskatoonmqg@gmail.com to confirm your spot!
  • Membership renewals – $60 in cash can be paid at the meeting, or by e-transfer.

November 2022 Meeting

The next meeting is November 27th.

Our November event includes both a Sew Day and Regular Meeting at Home Inn and Suites (253 Willis Crescent). Come and Go from 9 am to 8 pm (free for members) with a Lunch Break at 12 pm and Meeting from 2 to 4 pm. We regret that we didn’t have enough registrations for workshops but hopefully we are just postponing this to a less busy time of year.

Please RSVP for the sew day via saskatoonmqg@gmail.com and let us know if you are able to bring an iron, ironing board, or cutting mat to share. Members that are only able to attend the meeting should arrive by 2 p.m. Try to remember to bring your name tags! For those that are new, we encourage our members to wear their own stitched name tags.

Education Topic

Chery Arkison will stream in to the big screen at 2:00 to deliver a trunk show as part of our meeting. This will be free for members. If you want to take in the trunk show, you can join us in person or you can sign in from home.

Meeting Agenda

  • Trunk show
  • Show & Tell and Book, Blog, or Bolt – Show us what you’ve made and your works in progress. We all want to know what new and interesting things YOU know about.
  • Traveling quilts – Explanation, if needed (planned for 2023)
  • Elections – Bev will be stepping down as treasurer. Please do not avoid the meeting because you are afraid of being put on the spot for an Executive role. We are all willing to continue and we have a volunteer for the treasurer role. Though we welcome a change in leadership if anyone wants to take on a role!

Please note that we are starting traveling quilts in the new year. If you are interested, please email us to confirm your spot!
