Bev revealed the plans for the charity quilt at the last meeting and we even received a few donations to go to batting and thread. We need to follow the guidelines for the charity quilt challenge. This includes using white, blacks, and greys in text or low volume fabrics that coordinate with the colour palette. The letters are improv – I know it’s scary, but you can do it! This is how we grow!
Each letter can be upper or lower case. Each letter should be no more than 5.5″ tall (unfinished; 5″ when finished; use 1/4″ seam allowance) and can be as wide as needed. The letter should be black and the background should be white’s or light greys. The medium grey will be used for the border.
Below are examples of the letters, the colour palette, and the design of the quilt. If you would like to pick up swatches of the fabrics to match your fabric stache or sign up to do some letters before the next meeting, contact Bev (bev.murray.drew@gmail.com). If possible, bring your completed blocks to the next meeting at Sobey’s (Stonebridge) on November 24, 2019 at 2 p.m.
