The next meeting is on Sunday, November 24th.
The November meeting will be at the Sobey’s (Community Room) in Stonebridge from 2 to 4 p.m.
The meeting education will focus on sharing our favourite gadgets. Plan to bring a quilt-related item that makes your projects a breeze. Gadgets might be your favourite seam ripper (if you use one… lol), ruler, snips, thread, book, light, etc.
For those signed up to complete letters for our charity quilt, bring them to the meeting if possible. It will be exciting to see all the improv letters come together! If you have questions about the charity quilt, contact Bev (bev.murray.drew@gmail.com).
We will also have a show and share along with book, blog, and bolt, so bring your latest makes or finds to share with your fellow guild members and guest.
Meeting Agenda:
- Icebreaker
- Education – Favourite gadget
- Charity Quilt – Update from Bev
- Show & Tell and Book, Blog, or Bolt – Show us what you’ve made and your works in progress. We all want to know what new and interesting things YOU know about. Share your finds from the quilt show!
December Sew Day
Our last sew day of 2020 will happen on Sunday, December 8 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you plan on attending or would like to attend as a guest ($10), please RSVP to Sherry (smbirnie@gmail.com) as soon as you can to ensure we have enough space and let her know if you can bring a cutting mat, iron, or ironing board to share. It’s a great chance to work on those Christmas projects!
We will have a potluck lunch at noon – no need to let us know what you plan to bring. Realistically, most of us won’t decide what to bring until the night before, so if we all bring dessert, then we will eat dessert!
In lieu of a meeting, we will do a mug rug exchange. Simply bring a mug rug in an unmarked paper bag if you would like to participate and you will go home with a different one made by a fellow guild member.
What is a mug rug? It’s an oversized coaster to hold a mug and small snack. The size can be between 4″x6″ and 6″x10″. It can be any size, colour, or theme. A quick google search for “mug rug” will provide you with inspiration, tutorials, and patterns. Can’t wait to see what you create!
